More Parking Lots Open at Herrin Hospital

Additional parking lots for visitors have opened by the southeast corner of Herrin Hospital, close to the main entrance and ER. The section of 13th Street between Oak Street and Lyerla Drive in Herrin that was closed due to construction at Herrin Hospital is now reopened to vehicle traffic. The section was closed in October to ensure safety during one phase of the $19 million hospital expansion. That phase is now finished. Becky Ashton, hospital administrator, thanked the public for its patience and cooperation during the closing of the street.
