Herrin Hospital Auxiliary Donates New Care-A-Van
The Herrin Hospital Auxiliary Donated a brand new Care-A-Van to Herrin Hospital in May. The nine-passenger vehicle is wheelchair friendly and doubles the fleet of hospital Care-A-Vans to two. The hospital imaging department uses the vans to provide free rides to patients needing treatments that cannot get to the hospital on their own.
Charlotte DeLaney, auxiliary president, said the 137-member auxiliary is very active and dedicated to the hospital, its patients and its staff. Funds for the Care-A-Van were raised by the auxiliary through the Gift Garden gift shop on the main floor of the hospital, membership dues and memorials made in the name of auxiliary members.
